Telling God’s Story

We value the story God is telling. God’s story tells us where we came from, where we are and where we are going (Acts 17:26-31, Genesis 1, Revelation 22). In this story God is the protagonist and His mission is to save a people for himself (Acts 7, Ephesians 3:7-13). This story is the gospel, good news. We desire to join God on this mission, proclaiming the gospel to the world (Romans 1:16). This is a joy, because our life only finds meaning in this story (2 Corinthians 5:11-6:1; 1 Corinthians 9:19-27).

Habits

  • Individual: Create a habit of sharing the gospel with others.
  • Community: Invite others to hear Gospel-Centered Preaching.
  • Family: Instruct kids to love and obey from the heart.

Key Terms

  • Gospel-Centered Preaching: Teaching the Bible in a way that makes the Gospel the focal point. Gospel Centered preaching demonstrates how every text points to how God saves sinners. This is opposed to “moralistic teaching” that only emphasizes what people must do, instead of what God has done.
